Bernina presser feet instructions: Attaching a presser foot A useful little video for Bernina newbies. This video shows how to attach and replace BERNINA presser feet. Bernina presser feet can be attached very easily with just one hand. The opening at the top of the shank fits the cone of the clamp like a glove. Slide the presser foot over the cone and fully up into the clamp. Then push the clamping lever down. The free-hand system enables you to produce the largest possible clearance in the needle area, providing extra space when attaching the presser foot

Winter’s not over yet, so we’re getting the Accuquilt Go! out for some quick and easy projects. One of our favourites is this great little candle mat from Jo’s Country Junction.

Using the Dresden Plate pattern she decided to try a candle mat before braving an entire quilt.

Jo’s instructions say

This was a fun project and went together SUPER fast.  If you want to make one with the rounded blades, you will need 20 blades, 10 of each color.  Make sure you use a SCANT quarter inch seam when sewing the blades together.  A four inch circle is used to cover the hole.If you want to make one with straight edges, you will need 21 blades.    The rounded one finishes at about 12 inches and the straight at about 14.5 inches.   With the straight edged blades you will need to use your 5 inch circle die.  Here’s a quick video you can want if you want to see details on making the Dresden candle mat with both the rounded and straight edges.

Watch a video with step-by-step instructions, and remember if you do finish one, we’d love to see it!
